FT-IR spectrometer (Nicolet 6700, Thermo Scientific) enables recording high-quality infrared spectra (wavenumber range 400-4000 cm-1, maximum resolution 0.09 cm-1) for solids (including powders and thin layers), viscous liquids and gases emitted during thermal decomposition of a sample measured in TGA analyzer.
The device is equipped with two detectors (DLaTGS and MCT-A) and the following devices:
- EasyDiff (Pike) - DRIFT (Diffuse Reflectance Infrared Fourier Transform) diffusion scattering technique,
- Praying Mantis (Harrick) - DRIFT technique at a variable temperature of 20-450 °C in flowing gas (e.g. air, nitrogen, argon),
- Smart ITR (Thermo Scientific) - Attenuated Total Reflection (ATR) technique,
- Smart Saga (Thermo Scientific) - for measurements of thin layers (1 - 500 nm) deposited on metallic supports,
- TGA-IR (Thermo Scientific) – for detection of gaseous products emitted during a thermogravimetric measurement.
The software enables processing registered spectra, including automatic and manual baseline correction, smoothing, deconvolution, creating differential spectra, finding maxima.
